Learn To Speak French
In Canada, they offer French immersion classes in schools. Trying to learn to speak French can be difficult. That is why they start the French learning process at a young age during elementary school so that the student can absorb the French language better. Many people learn French language by creating tasks for themselves to tackle and accomplish. That is what I did and I’m on my way to graduating as a French speaking Canadian and I’m proud of it.
When you are first introduced to the French language, you may make the mistake of stereotyping it. You might think to yourself, I don’t want to learn this language because it is way too difficult. Or why waste my time with learning French when I can learn something that will benefit me more. Well, believe me when I tell you that learning French can benefit you much more than learning how to take apart a motor engine.
Taking French in schools or classes is the easiest way to learn the French language. The literal meanings and verbs in the French language can be frustrating and hard to learn but once you get the basic ones down the rest are easy.
Verbs are probably the hardest area of the French language to learn. They are frustrating and at certain points in the learning process can almost make you break down and cry. Although after you learn the basic verbs the rest are much easier to learn. What you have to understand about the French language is that you have to bare with it and grasp it by the horns or else it will rip you to shreds. This applies especially to the verbs
A great learning tool that I used all through school was called a Bescherelle. It has been my savior a couple of times. It has helped me pass big exams and tests in my French class and can help me with almost any verb in the French language. I am very happy to share this book with others who are not aware of it.
To learn the French language by yourself can be a very difficult way to learn French. I do not know of anyone that has tried this but I’m sure there are people doing it all over the world. You could try to be one of them. My advice to you when learning French by yourself is to speak it all the time. Go into a French speaking area in your town and try starting up conversations with French speaking people. Try to understand their literal meanings and the expressions they use when speaking. Once you grasp this, you can read, write, and speak French more fluently.
A big factor when learning French in classes is to always ask for help when you don’t understand something. If you’re going to be a shy person and just try to do work that makes no sense to you whatsoever, then you might as well drop out of the class. No one should be afraid to ask their teacher (who is getting paid to help students) for help. Please ask your teacher for help with something you don’t understand because he/she will give you the best literal understanding that they can.
Learning French can be a pain in the butt so I thought I would give some additional tips to those of you who would like to take their learning experience to the next level. There are some good resources online that can help you immensely. You can try using an online French translator or an online French dictionary to aid you in the learning process. Also please learn the French language at your own pace. Don’t try to learn too many things at once because this can be nerve wrecking. I already mentioned this but it is worth mentioning again. I highly recommend the Bescherelle. Please purchase this book. It is worth it.
